Families With Teenage Children And Career Choice

Abstract

This article presents a critical and integrative review on the role of the family in the period of the profissional choice of young people. It specifically focuses on the role that the family system plays in the process of choosing the profession of the children. This review covers a bibliographic search in the index databases of Scielo and VHL articles, published in Portuguese between 2005 and 2015. The results of the review pointed out that the role of the family is of fundamental importance in the process of choosing the profession, as well as its contributions at this moment . It is concluded that the active presence of the family is of great value in the process of professional choice and it remains the most important institution for the development of the human being.
